There was a girl named Valliammai who was called Valli far short. She was eight years old and very curious about things. Her favorite pastime was standing in the front doorway of her house, watching what was happening in the street outside. There were no playmates of her own age on the street and this was about all she had to do.
But far Valli, standing at the front door was every bit as enjoyable as any of the elaborate games other children played watching the street gave her many new unusual experiences.

It was a new bus, its outside painted a gleaming with some green stripes along the sides. Inside, the overhead bars shone like silver. Directly in front of Valli; about the windshield, there was a beautiful clock. The seats were soft and luxurious.

Trees help to support man’s life by supplying the atmosphere with oxygen which is essential to life. The oxygen in the air is constantly being used up and turned into carbon-di-oxide which is the food that plants eat The leaves of trees (in fact, of all green plants) absorb this carbon-di-oxide with the help of sunlight breaks it down into carbon and oxygen. In an unprecedented space tragedy, US space shuttle Columbin carrying Indian-born American astronaut, Kalpana Chawla, and six others broke apart in flames as it streaked over Texas towards its landing strip on Saturday 1 February 2003, Killing all seven on board.
The shuttle lost contact with NASA at about 9 am as it came in for a landing. It was flying at an altitude of over 200000 ft and traveling at over 20000 km per hour when ground control lost contact with the shuttle.
Columbia had lifted off on 16th January 2003 from the Kennedy Space Center, Florida. It had stayed in orbit for 16 days.
